The boys are in the playoffs and we are buzzing! We may have lost to the Lakers, but I really thought we played a great game and showed one of our best efforts of the season – despite having a short bench due to injuries and covid. The league is double elimination, so we still have at least one more game. What a season it’s been!
I have been on a lot of hockey teams over the years, and this is by far the most fun I’ve had on a team. I’m also super proud of our progression this season. Not just as individual players but as a team, we actually have chemistry now and it is really exciting to be on the ice with these boys every week. We have a goalie that plays harder than anyone, the funniest defenseman in the league, and so many other great guys.
For Christmas, we threw in money to help McNeil to get a new pair of skates. That was a really cool thing to be a part of, and he’s done a good job as captain this season. I’m sharing this story as one of the many examples of how this team has come together this season. At the start of the year, a lot of our guys barely knew each other.
After a short break, we’ll be right back at it for the Spring 2022 season, which I’m even more excited about than the current one. Like I said, we have only grown as a team and I think it will really show next season. To everyone who supports the Blaze, thank you from all of us – and to all my teammates, thank you for the best season I could ask for!
